So where is the best place to live in a world of flat or declining oil supplies?

The best places are those that have an extensive rail network (both passenger and freight) and, less importantly, have access to either oceans or the Great Lakes. The Chicago area is a good example.

The worst places are those that obviously lack these characteristics.

Fortunately, the US has a strong freight railroad system, although many Americans are not aware of it.
