It's worth pointing out (even if the tone on this thread has become hostile to civilian gun ownership) that for every terminal idiot like Loughner there are millions of more-or-less decent folk in America today who own guns. The proportion of those who want an OK Corral society is tiny. I was disgusted by Palin's crosshair graphic. It was plain inappropriate. Imo.
