He sounds like a very interesting writer. The comments you linked are quite supportive.

Certainly the Founding Fathers were well aware that governments eventually become so corrupt that the people must rebel in order to protect their rights; and it is good to have gadflies such as the satirist you linked us to...to remind society of what is at stake However, I think America still has a great Constitution and great people.

But in reading your quote from Ted Turner, I am dismayed that polls consistently show my fellow North Americans to be so superstitious and uneducated when it comes to the Sciences and History. I believe the survey indicated that 4 out of 5 Americans believed in creationism? Now when you have almost half your population still living in a superstitious dungeon of utter intellectual darkness, it is cause for grave concern--as any rational and intelligent person would allow.

Are the people you associate with mostly superstitious like yourself?
