BB, Win 98 (like Win 95) will be built only for the x86 instruction set and won't run on Alpha. Even under Win NT, current x86 software will have to be re-compiled and tested for the Alpha instruction set. This is not a real big deal for the shrink wrap apps (except that there's not much incentive to do it), but I don't see it happening for most vertical apps, except for compute-intensive ones.

Since this is the AMAT thread, ... looks like we just got another "Ball" call. The Bad News Bear pitcher may have to come in with a fast ball down the middle next time. Hope you get your pitch soon. I decided to swing at the last outside curve anyway, adding yet more LEAPS.
