Steve, that may be true of some tech companies, but graphic and sound chips are going to be needed for a long time. Although many of the smaller companies produce good chips, they are expensive. We are in the era of the sub $1000 PC. Cheap chips is were it is at now. 3-D is still not practical, but that and video are certainly in the future. Right now, it is too expensive and there is not enough software. All we need to see from S3 is plans for some good products and some descent management and everything will be fine, regardless of what kind of money they made or didn't make in the past.

PS: If Novell, LOTUS, and Borland are still around, I don't think S3 is going anywhere.
