I looked up the Heller decision. It doesn't appear to say you can have uzis.

Handguns, well pistols, were around at the time of the revolution. I cannot believe that the strict constructionists on the court could possibly approve of slipping the meaning of guns to include automatic weapons with the kind of firepower not available at that hallowed and beautiful time when our country was founded- can you? Oh my what blasphemy that would be. Strict construction, as you know, is extremely close to the hearts (if they have any) of Scalia et al- and I am pretty sure our founding fathers no more intended our cities to be full of folks toting automatic weapons, than they did to have the citizenry dragging little cannons behind them in the streets.

But hey, show me where in Heller it suggests you can have extreme firepower. I'm not seeing it.

I read it fast, not wishing to waste my time, but I'm more than willing to read the speifics wrt firepower, if there are any.
