How about I just make that post now? The inflammatory language of the Becks, Limbaughs, Olbermanns, Matthews', etc. has got to stop.
We can have stronger gun control laws and/or enforcement without gutting the 2nd amendment. In fact, we should.
The birthers, the 9/11 truthers, the "Obama is a Muslim" nonsense, that all has to stop. Same with the continual blaming of Bush. And the trashing of Sarah Palin.

I for one am DISGUSTED with the reaction (and reaction to the reaction) to this shooting. What an absolute DISGRACE to Congresswoman Giffords, who is otherwise a fine lady and distinguished public servant, and to the memory of the victims who died thanks to this asshole.
Instead, we are now embroiled in a debate over whether the Tea Party is culpable, whether the MSM is reprehensible in their rush to judgement, yada yada yada. We are using the suffering and the struggle of the victims to recover (at least those who haven't already died) for our own SELFISH motives.
The truth is the entire country is culpable. We have created an environment that encourages violence. To whit, there are crazy people in other countries but they don't assassinate their leaders or kill innocent folk in a public. Between the school shootings, random public shootings of innocents, assassination attempts against our leaders, and the constant death threats against anyone in a leadership position, we are no better than Mexico with its drug cartels.
How about we just let it go and refocus on recovering from this senseless crime? Like I told Bentway, the real asshole is smiling in his mugshot. THAT'S the real enemy here, not conservatives or liberals, but jerkoffs who want this great nation to collapse on itself.
I disagree. The guy in the mugshot is not the real asshole........he just pulled the trigger. Americans are. This is not news that we have become a very violent society and yet we work feverishly to put these lethal events behind us and eventually claim them as aberrations. Guns are sold in this country like they are candy. Violence has become a way of life. The only way it can stop is by all Americans agreeing that its wrong. Unfortunately, too many Americans continue to believe its an acceptable way of life.
And how do we counter anarchist lunatics like that? By doing the opposite of what they believe. By emerging stronger and more unified from this. Not by feeding into the mess.
Again, I disagree. There is an element in the conservative movement in this country that has become radicalized and grows more powerful by the day. They vocalize their threats 24/7 and encourage anarchy whenever they feel they are not getting their way. I am talking about the Becks, the Palins, the Demints, the Angles et al. Until these people are put in restraints and forced to stop their BS, there can be no compromising......no working together. |
