This "defense" is still the problem. My advice to Palin would have been to make a five minute condolence speech. Basically the first part of what she did say. Then shut up. Attacking the Left was futile. It's exactly what they wanted.

The Right had won this contest about the cause of the killings with the Left. She opened it up again.
