I think this sector may be nearing one of the last outsized short-term rallies it has left in it. Going forward from there, I think movement will be slow and steady. Today's expressedly negative sentiment might be healthy if it can be balanced by AMAT's assessment of the industry later this month. I speculate that the broader market is looking for some direction right now and has been unable to find it. Hence, it has not rallied in a convincing fashion. It needs some assurance that Asian concerns, while real, do not portend doom. If the outlook can be accepted as sanguine, yet realistic, we may have a short repeat of the market state earlier this year when this sector led the way. If this does not occur, I believe a longer-term downtrend for the market would follow. CMOS is now a company with very improved prospects, and is prepared to weather the storm better than many.
