There is no sporting purpose Yes - IPSC competition uses them. Handguns aren't exclusively for sporting purposes, they're primarily for self defense. Self defense "is" about killing people - bad people. It's just common sense. No - it's not. I say this as a responsible gun owner You have a concealed carry permit for that sawed off shotgun you intend to carry under your jacket? I don't see any purpose in high capacity clips except for the military or law enforcement. Same reason they use them - fire power against bad guys when needed. Then of course more shooting at the range and less reloading time wasted. Ever load glock magazines - you're hands can get pretty darn worn out and really mess up your shooting. It's best to load all your magazines the night before you go to the range. That's why I have six 33 round and six 17 round magazines and can load up 300 rounds before I go practice without having to waste time reloading at the range.
