This "defense" is still the problem.

No, it was the original use of the term "blood libel" which in my view was a deliberate and intended act whose intention was to promote the kind of attention and publicity it has promoted. In other words, her stock in trade is to somehow stay in the public eye.

She knows she is unelectable (or she should know, the polls don't lie) and she is in it for the money IMO. How anyone can support her after she quit the governorship, I don't know.

A female version of Pat Buchanan is how I see her, totally unelectable - but she has to make a living while her day in the sun is here so she stays in the public eye by making sure controversy surrounds her. She also knows all but a small core of her supporters will tire of her so she is shrewdly making use of her looks and her celebrity while they exist.
