Lets take a close look at all the hardware you can choose.
Processors. On each of their desktop models you can "choose" to go with their preconfigured 233 mhz model or "choose" to upgrade to a 266 mhz machine. WOW! You mean that apple customers can now "choose" amoung the one alternative processor speed? A choice with one selection is hardly built to order.
Memory. I can add more ram. What a concept! Do you think Wall Street will be able to handle the buy orders for apple stock that this will generate?
Hard Drives. I can "choose" the preconfigured 4 gig drive or upgrade
to the various selections of hard drives. But wait! They've limited my selections to a choice of one. Again, this is hardly built to order.
So, basicly they are marketing the same failed ideas on a nice new web site. If you've got something substantive to say, let's hear it. Otherwise I doubt this thread needs another mac zealot pleading Apple's case because they are unable to do it themselves. Just because Apple has a great OS, doesn't mean they know how to sell hardware. If they did, they would have never paid PowerComputing millions of dollars just to learn how to sell a mac.
