What if it's not just metaphorical speech. <This feedback loop of hate speech has created an angry environment that inspires the most troubled. > Which is cause and which is effect? It seems more likely that the anger comes first and the speech follows.

So, when Sarah puts gun-sights on the now left-brain dead lady's political HQ, and says "don't retreat, reload", it's not metaphorical speech.

Violent metaphors are so interwoven with english [and american] that it's hard to avoid. In SI a month or two ago somebody wrote "live by the sword, die by the sword" and claimed it was just a figure of speech. I suggested, "hoist with his own petard" thinking a petard was a little flag on a boat, as a way of saying the same thing but without the violent language, which there is altogether too much of. But it was pointed out to me that a petard was a French grenade/bomb so I was hoist with my own petard.

Using Godwin's law, when Adolf wrote Mein Kampf he meant it and appeasement wasn't an option. When President Amendiejihad says Iran will obliterate Israel, he doesn't really just mean figuratively by way of a UN resolution.

The violent "figurative" language people use is because it's in their hearts. It's not just metaphorical. Otherwise they'd talk nicely about the lovely happy sunny day they are having and invite the people they disagree with over for a nice cup of tea and a discussion where they would actually listen and reason.

Crazy Palin is vicious but fortunately can't hit a barn door or a moose standing still. She is so idiotic she thinks Julian Assange is like Osama. Like that hideous crocodile grinning Huckabee who would like Julian executed at least. Let's hope he and Crazy Palin get bombed after being shot by blow-back. Put targets on their HQs with GPS co-ordinates.

Live by the sword, die by the sword.

The feelings precede the words and the words are the effect, not the cause. Stopping the words is not the answer. Stop rewarding Crazy Palin with "Heck yeah, I'm with her. Let's shoot the blighters". There are quite sensible politicians such as Ron Paul who are available to support.

Now Crazy Palin is off to do some gun-toting shoot 'em up promotional work while her victim lies half dead. Good shot Sarah! She can't shoot accurately herself, so designates targets and leaves somebody else to do the shooting. She should apologize to Julian Assange but she's like Adolf and knows no bounds as long as God calls her to greater things, which he assuredly will do - that's megalomania and voices in the head. She is very like Osama. Much more so than is Julian Assange.

Let the wet work begin. Bring out the pitchforks, so to speak. Was that the shot heard around the world? Bring on WWIII. It has been nearly 100 years since the first one. The stage is set.
