I think the Chinese educational objectives can be reached in a much more humanitarian manner.

I never even raised my voice to either of my kids and never once had to tell them to do their homework. Both were honor students and got excellent educations.

What that author leaves out is that the Japanese do the same thing and have the highest suicide rate in the world among students.

Kids egos are very fragile and must be dealt with very gently.

Besides that, learning is as much about wisdom as it is about knowledge. Wisdom can only be learned through gentleness.
