Kids egos are very fragile and must be dealt with very gently.

I think you miss the underlying message in that article. Those kids' egos are not fragile because they know their parents love them deeply. Rent The Joy Luck Club.....it talks about this very issue.

I very much agree with this kind of child raising. I think good parents in this country coddle their kids too much.
