Just bear with me for a moment and read this once sentence, even though I know I will be flamed for bringing this up too much. Jill Vardy of the Financial Post wrote: "Cowpland sold $20.5 million of his Corel shares -- about half his 20% stake in the company -- during Aug. 11 to 14, just two weeks before the disastrous quarter ended." Now let's assume that two weeks before the close of the quarter, CEO Cowpland had some idea that sales might be off. I know it's a stretch to assume that a CEO would be aware of sales trends at the end of a quarter, but just go along for a minute. That would mean that by selling a $20.5 million position in August, Cowpland transferred $10.2 million in losses to unsuspecting shareholders like you and me who bought his stock. (The stock has lost about half its value since then.) Is it not possible for even the most selfish, hardened cynic among us to read this and feel a sense of outrage and disgust?!! Has this world gotten so cold that people can read this and smirk when someone encourages the Corel shareholding public to: FOCUS ON THE LAWSUIT AGAINST COWPLAND AND COREL!!!!
