BB, I got 10 Jan 2000 AMAT Call 25 @ 14. As to "why?", it gives me more "BB" (Tito's term - Bang for the Bucks). If AMAT pops back up by several points within a few days, I'll dump them for a quick profit, then repeat the procedure. OK, I admit I'm not just a long-term investor (hey, trading can be fun! If it doesn't work out, just turn it into a long-term play!) I like getting 10 contracts at a time because it's convenient. I only buy in-the-money LEAPS (usually deep in) because the time premium is lower (it's closer to the break-even point at expiration) I also prefer the furthest expiration date available (Jan 2000), just in case things take longer than expected to improve. Hope this helps.
