And had O'Donnell won, who would be Senate Majority leader? Harry Reid. That is correct but there may be times when we could use an extra vote in the Senate. By running a lightweight with only a slim chance of victory, we lost that extra vote on some filibusters etc. I'm assuming Mike Castle is similar to Scott Brown. We are fortunate that Scott Brown is in the Senate(relative to the alternative) even if we don't agree with him on all issues. At an individual state level, there are some states (like Mass.) where a Scott Brown or a Mike Castle is all that is possible.
