Countries with strong gun control have less violent crime. False, some have draconian gun control and heavy crime, others have little gun control and relatively heavy crime, others have heavy gun control and lighter crime. Idiotic? Hardly. "Idiotic" referred to this specific proposed law, which is indeed idiotic even if gun control generally decreased crime, and one had little or no other objection to it. Even if gun control where a good idea, that wouldn't mean that you couldn't do it in a foolish manner. This proposed law foolish and silly.
