I agree with you that a good quality education is the cornerstone of America's restoration of past glory. Unfortunately. the US capitalist system does not place that at the top of the list. Capitalism's goal is not to empower the working class with the knowledge. It is also the goal of communism.

I was at the Democratic party caucus meeting of Alameda county yesterday. We had a guest speaker, obviously a social worker, who went on and on about foster care. Believe he was talking from his training and the books he had to read in school. The guy had no experience at the field level it would seem. He went on and on about the need for placing these kids in loving families and what a hard time the State was having to find loving and caring families. Then I asked them about their policy of placing these kids in same sex families and single parent families if they determine that these families have that loving atmosphere. I was shocked to learn that they have a policy statewide (yes in CA) that they are prohibited from doing so!!!! When I pointed out to them that two of our recent Presidents grew up in single family households and that one who grew up in a household of a father and mother had alcoholic problems, the guy (speaker) just drew a blank.

We seriously need to change thinking the "American way" on some of the social issues such as this one. We need to seek our guidance from the East
