In all fairness to Trump, I have to say that when one looks at the cost advantages in China, India, and rest of SE Asia and the continued gutting of the labor force in this country, some kind of effort to level the playing field comes to mind.
Protectionist thoughts always spring up because
even with rampant wage inflation happening recently in China, it will be decades before wage parity is reached with the US.
