even with rampant wage inflation happening recently in China, it will be decades before wage parity is reached with the US.

One of my nieces works for minimum wage in the mall in the Philippines. 280 pesos per day. That's about $6. It doesn't include food or transport back and forth to work. And....it's hard to get the job - way more applicants than spots.
