Its not a matter of "can't dance" but rather its a matter of "won't
dance". Mr Michael Dell has refused to soil his hands by making
classless cheap sub 1000 pc's.
He goes snooty. He disdains opportunity and money. Surely money
and opportunity shall disdain him(or atleast his shareholders).
Highly advanced "manufacturing prowess" is over rated. IBM, CPQ, HWP
and DEC can do that too. Its a paradigm shift in the PC industry.
DELL may do OK this quarter(due to freefalling memory and hard disk
prices and its vaunted inventory control) but will have to change its model or die.
