I hear that he research is being done at a major dental school in California. I read an article on Premium? Laser Co which has FDA approval for solid tissue removal <cavities> using an erbium YAG laser. Our diode laser wuuld of course be less expensive to produce as the cost of diodes is now dropping. The article in the Dick Davis Digest stated that if every dentist bought one of these erbium lasers the market would be 5 billon dollars. They cost 39,000 dollars each, but the time to complete excavation of the cavity is one tenth the time.
