Sometimes you can't win for losing.

I'm sure the regulars here are aware my posting has been sporadic at best for a month now. Long story short - I got bronchitis. That meant I had to quit taking Humira [an immunosuppressant] that has been one of the best prescriptions yet that got my previously out of control pain management issues down to tolerable levels. Obviously the combination of bronchitis & serious pain made it hard to do just about anything. I'm still not over it.

Here's a little background necessary to make my point. I spent a decade going from one specialist to another trying to find someone who could diagnose & properly treat my condition. Finally I went to a rheumatologist who at first was just like the previous doctors, but due to a lucky incident, became my best doctor ever. He has worked his ass off for years trying to get my pain management issues under control. I trust this man more than any other doctor I've ever had.

So here's the real kick in the pants. Earlier this month my rheumatologist was arrested for allegedly groping a woman during an examination. Needless to say I was shocked. I didn't know what to think.

As much as I consider myself someone who can read people well, a sexual predator often seems like any normal person [I've been shocked to the core more than once by folks whom I'd never thought they had any evil intentions that turned out to be sexual predators].

So today it got worse. My wife heard on the radio this morning that 2 more women have come forward claiming they too had been groped by my rheumatologist.

Whether he's guilty or not, I figure the odds now are fairly high he will be done as a practitioner. Obviously if he's guilty I hope he rots in hell.

But if he's innocent that is probably a worse crime IMHO. Not only will an innocent man suffer because of greedy opportunists, the people this man has helped will also suffer immensely.

Like I said, sometimes you can't win for losing.

OOF :-(
