Probably getting tired I did not understand your message 100%. Do you mean one should be careful when shorting? I hope people are whe one shorts there is limitless upside potential to your looses. When you go long you cann't possible loose go under zero [unless you borrowed on margin]. Two rules: keep a net long position, short stuff outrageusly ovwerprice and preferably no memumtum, also in this enveronmont the big bull seems to have lost some steam so the odds may be a bit in your favor. If the stock does not fall on its on merit it falls with the market even more so if the multiples are high (i.e., the case of CTSX today)
