It seems odd that Egypt is not a member of OPEC. With members to its East and a couple more to its West, my guess is that its potential has not been realized for whatever reason. Someday it probably will become an exporter. Time will tell. I see a recent article on developments in upper Egypt. I assume they mean further South, upper with reference to the Nile flow, but I'm not sure.
