Rosemary: Great points! About the paying off the credit card (if I was allowed to borrow that much on it, which I am not), not having to sell the stock lower than I want to, and the monthly payments being a reminder!I do think that buying on margin could be a great thing to do, when I am more seasoned and way more disciplined. The original thing I was doing, buying on margin, selling soon as I got a small profit and repeating it was great. But I should have stopped when the market began getting crazy, from Sept on. Instead I went in deeper.
I think I've learned my lesson, even with no reminder from the credit card company!
I think that margin, shorting, all those "cute" things, are for very short short term trading. I will do it again, but when I know more, when the market gets steady again, and I will have a written policy that I will follow!!!!!
