To all,

FWIW I just now noticed that PC Mall was advertising the new Syquest SparQ in the Dec issue of Computer Shopper. It was selling for $199 and the 3 pack of 1 gig cartridges was $99. It was a nice looking ad btw. I'm not a shareholder as I view this stock as a tad risky but for sure if I were in the market for removable storage at this very minute this is the product I would buy. The low cost per Megabyte can't be beat. But of course who has the best product/value changes all the time. If the Castlewood Systems?????? company that I've seen mentioned on this thread later comes out with their 2.1G for about the same price in spite of legal objections from Syquest then that won't bode well for Syquest at all.
Removable storage and disk drive cost performance seems to be improving rapidly of late (for the consumer). The company that will succeed will be the one who can come come out with new and better products rapidly and make their old products look bad in comparison before the competition does the same thing. I'm just a watcher/fence sitter on this stock because of all the share outstanding and because it's such an increasing competitive field; but I hope they sell a ton of SparQ's because it sounds like a great product.
