Most of Lott's claims he has backed up with data. The data he says is lost is not enough to invalidate his point, and in any case other studies tend to show either show no clear influence on crime levels from the level of guns, or show the same general trend of "more guns, less crime", if perhaps not as strongly as Lott's study.

The sock-puppeting was pretty lame, but says nothing about his research.

Calling someone "rabidly antigun", anonomously or not, is even less meaningful.
