What you are seeing is a company that is honest and forthcoming about it's mistakes. No wonder it seems so strange to you when you idolize AMD.

BTW: In the press release Intel also upped it's revenue estimates.


Right-O Elmer! It's really a good thing Intel had this defective chip issue... It shows how "honest" and "reliable" they are, and how revenues actually "increase" when problems are found in Intel chips.

[update] Even though new chips with the flaw fixed are already in production, they just found out about the problem now. Of course they didn't know the parts they've been selling were defective...

We should really just give them a pass on this one, seeing as how awesome Intel is. Let's just forget it happened.

After all, it would be really crass to bring it up over and over and over and over and over again, even after a couple of years and multiple problem-free following iterations.
