I don't think there are any reliable statistics on F/P. And most of it probably happens as a result of things that happen long before the food gets to the restaurant.

You hear all kinds of insane claims -- like 1 in 4 getting F/P each year. That's nonsense. I've never had it that I know of, nor has anyone in my family or anyone I've met with whom the subject may have come up. That's not 1 in 4.

I did get a sheet metal screw inside a burger at WhatABurger one time. That was traumatic, but not what I'd call F/P.
