Paul: Ive gone back an reviewed your posts on intel as far as si would let me. I dont think you deserve an apology for, among other reasons, your posts have not been "operative" and seem emotional and reactive rather than reasoned or prescient: 1. Your critisim of intel in the low end market: I cant tell whether you like or hate intel's participation. But dont give me your market analysis. Intel became a Xbillion dollar making $10 chips. IBM in 1981 abondoned this market which resulted in Intel and another company, now worth over 200 Billion dollars. 2. The asian problem is with the stock market, not the demand for computers. Who cares? It is the stockmarket that would raize the money to fund companies to build plants to get the asp down so that they might compete, if the market is down, they can't DO that. The stock market DOES NOT EFFECT THE INTRINSIC DEMAND for intel products, it lessens their ability to compete. and as for the crash in the Hong Kong market, THIS JUST IN: They dont have a country any more. (flash!) 3. Your incisive comments suffer from the post hoc ergo propter hoc falicy. You wait for the event to happen and then predict the reason. This falls less into the category of analysis and more into the category of gloating. 4. The Bug problem: The problem last time was that intel tried to stonewall it, people got pissed! This time they announced immediately and are trying to solve it. Its a little more complex than this but its late and I'm typing this a webtv chicklet-clone keyboard. ITS BEEN around for about two years now, has one isp been effected. (now dont start anything) WWWWhhhhoooaaaa. That felt good! His Dukeness.
