Hi Duke, I have a question and some info (for what it's worth). Does anyone know the % short interest, held by specialists, in APM? I think it is posted in Barron's. Talked to an APM employee on Tuesday. He said the company expanded their MR production area into what was office space in their Goleta plant. Currently getting about 30% yields on MR. They also installed a costly anti-static floor in a section of the plant. He did not have much to say about the future but stated they made 100 million profit last year. I asked if the plant changes would be written in on the next 10Q. He thought it would be in '98, but was not confident. Also, tonight a friend said he spoke to an APM sales rep. The rep said they did not have any sales prospects in the near future. Of course second info must be taken with a grain of salt. I think long term, over 1 year, prospects look great for the sector. APM looks good on the books, but with an uncertain future, I will remain on the sidelines for now. Steve
