LesX, I'm not criticizing your investment styly. If you're investing successfully, then keep sharing your gut feelings. However, recent success is a better measure of your investment skill. Anyone can make money in a bull market. How you do in a correcting, consolidating or bear market is the real test of your investment skill.

I bet you're so far ahead with your company's esop that you can afford to speculate. Personally, as weak as the Tech Sector is, I'd rather speculate on PSFT(which may be overvalued) than ECO (which may be undervalued). My gut feel is that gold stock prices are going to get worse before they get better. However, my gut feelings are almost always wrong. That's why I need technical analysis for short term investment decisions and fundamentals for long term investment decisions.

In the long run (a year from now), buying gold stocks now will likely prove to be a good investment. All of us keep asking, how can prices go any lower? A new factor to consider: Asians selling gold to cover their stock market losses.
