Oh my gosh, Tim....that is really a sad story. Plus having what you have to deal with on top of it... I'm so very sorry!
Perhaps he will give you your records...you may have to pay for the copies, but I'm pretty sure he will when you ask.
Have you had any other kind of doctor who has really helped you? It was just luck that I found a great neurosurgeon....in Dec 2008, I had the big attack from a faulty C5-6 disc failure, and it was pressing on the spinal cord...plus the stenosis....had to go to emergency...stayed inpatient for 2 days, and they determined the problem. By chance, a really good Doc was there, and had me see him when I was discharged. He ended up doing that surgery in Feb 2009, and then last Oct 2010, had to have more done double discectomy, with fusion of C5-6 and 4.... This one has been tougher to deal with, but hopefully in the long, will be better. When he met my hubby through all the processes, they talked about hubby's bad knees. Long story, but the neurosurgeon referred hubby to another really good Doc that does mostly knees and hips. He had the operation on the first knee on Jan 24th...so far, so good.
So if you have had success with another Doc, perhaps they will give you 2 or 3 names. They really don't recommend specific Docs (liability), but if you ask if your wife/husband etc has a similar problem, "which would they contact contact..." you get some good referrals.
