Preferreds: I've liked the Flaherty & Crumrine operation, not so much the Advent/Claymore.

I sold AGC recently after holding it several years. I decided I didn't like that so much of the "yield" (44.9% of it) was return of capital:

Flaherty & Crumrine does a good job of communicating with stockholders and trying to educate them about the "preferred" sector of investing.

I haven't been able to see right now though how much of their yield is return of capital. If I find in their PFD it's almost 1/2, I'll at least cut back my position in PFD by a substantial amount.
