Automated factories, perfect example where someone with average intelligence, some aptitude for industrial controls and communications and some ambition can earn quite a good living. Especially relative to all the jobs the automation displaced. Of course these displaced jobs were decent paying jobs for many and they did not require higher skill sets. We dont get cheap consumer goods without automation.
