This may be so, but they are learning fast. Just checked my iPhone 4 - yes, it's made in China. They are not standing in place, and in time competition will continue - on all levels.

I agree totally. The other important development re the health of our economy going forward is the number of American manufacturing facilities now being built in China. Corporate America is actually in good shape. The aggregate profit picture is quite good. Corporate America is expanding and adding jobs. Just not in this country enough to make much of a headway on the increasing demand for jobs in the US.

One piece of good news though is that wage inflation in China appears to be gaining steam.....20% increases on average expected for 2011. This moves our two countries a little closer to wage parity.
