Small business (as defined by our Government) is 500 employees or under. Small business is the ONLY part of our business community that has been the engine that has made growth and new employment happen over the last probably 50 years.

With what is going on today, it is a wonder that as many people are working as there are....

I had a small 10 employee business that I started, owned, and ran for 23 years. It became very difficult to continue to do that, and keep up with all the local, state, and national paperwork as well. I either had to grow it much larger, or stop the business. If the company has 50 or more employees, the paperwork is just onerous, and burdensome. My feeling was we would lose the essence of quality I felt necessary by growing the business and adding more employees....So it was time to retire early, unfortunately.
