Yes you told me that. You said they were surprised. Fine. So they think this is the way of the world. I am suggesting (for the nth teen time) don't just "blog" about it. Sit down, compose a one page letter then mail them - "we aren't taking your bilingual chit, and you have lost a customer - I have bot Dell who does provide the keyboard I want."

If you think you are alone in writing them and/or "what's the point?" - then that is the wrong attitude.

250,000 people rose up against Bell's UBB and look what is happening - they are reviewing the CRTC decision and (hopefully) may reverse it.

Which of the 250,000 said "well who am I to say anything"? Answer - None.

Anyways, not going to belabour it anymore. In my world I take action - write letters, ask for the manager, argue. Whatever.

Here is one taste. We were in Dairy Queen (me and my two sons 12 and 8). They had a "buy a Blizzard for 25 cents" anniversary deal - and when I went they said they are not participating. I queried the cashier who said "we had done it up to X day". (HUGE PROBLEM - I firmly believe they cannot OPT IN and OPT OUT in the middle - they need to either do it for all or none). I asked for the manager and had harsh words - said I am calling HO tomorrow and won't be buying anything from you - we left. My kids were mildly disappointed (12y laughed and knew we were ripped off) - I stated to them both "we must take a stand - and by buying there, it means they can do this and get away with it".

I called and they sent me a gift card to be used in any store. Plus the owner of the store sent me a "lifetime $1.00 all purchases" card. I haven't been back, mind you, as I refuse to go to THAT store (or the other they own) due to how they conduct business. But as stated to my kids - they are on record plus we did get a gift card for a free blizzard at another store and will do that.

Better than that - they are learning not to take it when they are ripped off. To me more valuable than a blasted Xtreme Blizzard.

Fin.
