I've always wondered why so many small start up family restaurants go out of business. If they treat their customers right, price the food fairly, keep a clean "house", people will always flock to their door, no matter how much competition there is.
When Michelle Obama tells the Restaurant Association to make portions smaller, it just shows us how little sense she really has. Many times, the businesses that serve larger portions have quite a busy business. Most often, their customers take the remaining food home with them for another meal. In a way, Michelle O is just trying to get another hidden tax on the average person.
The people with more money order fancy presentations of food, costs more, and portions are smaller. So if they want more, they just order additional side dishes. Hang the cost.
What Michelle Obama could easily do is STOP telling people what to do. But she could teach people the basic food groups, and perhaps the WH chef could offer some free recipes for people to try that are low in cost, and high in nutrition. When you TELL people what they should do, it's like tossing a firecracker in their face. They WILL NOT do it! NO ONE likes to be told WHAT and HOW to do something.
She also neglects a large portion of the problem. The single parent families. Many of them don't know how to cook. So their children eat at school on the taxpayers back. PLUS many of the ethnic people coming here to the US grew up on a diet of corn tortillas, chips, deep fried, or fried everything. Do you think she would ever say this????? Of course not, it's not PC.... |
