It would probably be a small position, very long.

In any case it's an amazing bet they've placed. From a completely Microsoft oriented shop to a UNIX kernel shop like Apple, closed like Apple and serious enough about WebOS to put it on all their devices.

Jon Rubinstein like Jobs has a lot of experience with visionary technology. He's been there when it lost and won and lost.

He was at NeXT, he started and sold a company, he went back to Apple with Jobs, helped turn around the company, was involved with hardware strategy including the iPod and software strategy, then Palm. This is his second time around at HP.

Promising stuff. They have a daunting task but to me they've mapped out a superior long term strategy compared to Android, and maybe superior to Apple.
