><>...Good morning Jane...><>
I don't know where you stand on the "rapture theory", but scripture does not teach it. Scripture does not teach that our Lord will return at any moment. It does not teach a secret rapture of the church. There are absolutely no scriptures that support or even hint at a possible sudden lifting out of here of all christians... It is not written!
The Pre-trib Raptrue teaches that at any moment all saved people (christians) will suddenly be gone...Poof... It teaches that all those left behind will be tortured, maimed, slaughtered, and or killed. They say that this is required of God in order to get into Heaven. They also say that all this will be happening while Jesus and all the priviliged ones are feasting at the wedding supper of the Lamb.
So while me and you and all other priviliged ones are having a party our family members, and friends, are all being tortured and killed....Are we having a good time?...Then after the party we watch this slaughtering, and wait for another 7 yrs......good entertainment?
At the end of seven yrs. God sends Jesus back and we all go with Him to finish the job!
In order for the rapture theory to be true all the above must happen plus much, much, more absuridity, which scripture does not teach and is as a matter of fact contrary to everything scripture does teach, and is not of God!!.
The rapture theory is a lie from satan, that I too once believed, but with many questions. And God forgive me, I even began to teach it. But When I started to do my own study of the scriptures concerning this issue, I realized that I had been duped. Scripture is quite clear on the return of our Lord.
I had read all the experts on this subject, listened to all the tapes, tuned in to all the T.V. ministries and heard all their experts even saw some very popular movies detailing the scenes of this happening....Pretty fantastic stuff. Initially I fell for it, but as I already stated, I still had many questions, that could not be reconciled with scripture.
A good friend of mine even told me, when I said to him,("I am going to ask God to let me stay here and help others") that "I'd better not pray a prayer like that, because it was God's plan to take us out of here".....but I just couldn't buy it hook line and sinker.! Now this friend of mine was a 55 yr. old man who I thought knew the Bible backwards.....What I didn't realize (until I had completed my own in-depth study of scriptures) was that he just had it backwards... So I went straight to God in prayer When I finished my study I took it to my good friend, who decided to "look it over". That was some yrs. ago, he now sees that the "rapture" as is taught by many, cannot be the truth. Scripture had proved that to him.
The pre-trib rapture got it start in 1850 in a small town in Scotland, when a young emotionall disturbed girl by the name of Margaret Mc Donald. While in church one day she went into a trance-like state and made some absurd, non-Biblical rantings. She said at first it seemd evil...But there were preacher types there and they picke it up and ran with it. This is church history. If you are interested in reading of it, the title of the book is,"The Incredible Cover-up", by Dave McPherson. ---------- ----------
Each and evry scripture that is used by the rapture experts is used completely out of context, and some have nothing at all to do with the subject at hand, not even if stretched 1000 miles.
After prayer and an in depth study of God's word it becomes crystal clear. I wondered how I ever could have believed it (the rapture) for even one minute....Ahhh but satan is so cunning.
Because the rapture theory teaches that all christians will be zapped outta here at any moment and before the antichrist appears, they will not be prepared to know what to do when satan, disguised as Jesus appears instead. So while all the rapture experts are arguing about the identity of the antichrist, and constantly changing their minds about who it will be, and telling christians not to worry because "you will be gone", they christians, will be totally deceived. satan disguised as Jesus will deceive even the experts!!
Christ warned: Matt 24:26 26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
Read the entire chapter, Christ is warning about his return, and what it will be like. Also Mark 13. Scriptures throughout the entire NT will testify to the return of Christ at the 7th trump and not one minute before. The important issue to understand is that we will all be here at the appearance of satan as antichrist...who will by the way come in peace, and disguised as Jesus! to deceive the world.!And most christians will be waiting for this false Jesus, while he is here,to rapture them away.
Mark 13:20-23 20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days. 21 And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not: 22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. 23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
If you sincerely want to study this issue I would be more than happy to discuss it with you at length according to scripture. For starters see the following. And I am sure our new found friend Malcolm, and others will also want to join in....we can have a rapture rapp session....Smile... exchange2000.com
Have a good day you and your family Shalom...><>
