Zinc , lead were the high numbers . No pipe bomb and douptfull that any kid did it . When I was running the forge there was zero smoke ,which would indicate that the material had gone in the forge in the previous class . To get that much zinc lining the forge the object had to be large , perhaps a zinc casting . There had to be one hell of alot of smoke when the object went in the forge and such an event would have been noted if the source was a students actions . No notice was made of such an event so i can only conclude that the action occurred after class and by the night school instructor . he initially said " It was me , no kids were exposed , I take full responsablity " As things progressed my employer now denies that the statement was ever made . It took 3 days for the forge to get dismantled , it took 13 days for the samples to get sent out . WCB has pretty much backed up everything I have said but "our mandate is not to find fault it is to prevent such unsafe practices in the future " So I am kind of out on a limb here .But how the situation has been handled reeks of bias , favouritism and a cover . A few weeks later WCB dropped by and caught the same night school guys by passing a locked out gas valve , they did not get fined . I was told that they would have got fined if the lock out procedure had been done properly . There was a tag on the valve , that should have been enough . Apparently my employer gave them permission to by pass the lock out tag and saw nothing wrong with doing so . Not sure where all of this will end up and need to do my best not to get screwed out of some of my pension . To date WCB has not accepted or turned down my claim . Lots of fun . Life is too short so i am doing my best to make good use of my time and decided to hit the road for a few days . That is how I ended up in California . Some guy i have never even met offered me the use of his hotrod for the time I am down here . He had seen some of my auto work on line and figured that was enough of a reason to loan me his ride . Life has a way of balancing things out . I tried to get my daughter to open a TFSA . She has not done so yet . Once done I will do some trading for her .
