Agree with Kerm's and HAZ's responses to you. It is strictly against the rules for an official of a public company to provide material information that is not in the public domain. They can't get around that rule by adding a disclaimer to an email. I spoke to a CFO yesterday who was so obviously aware of this that you could almost hear him twisting into a knot on the other end of the phone. He wanted to be helpful, but was not going to step outside of the letter or intent of the regulations -- and I applaud him for it.

Should you worry about acting on this information? How about a reply in the form of a rhetorical question: why are you so special that you're the only one getting this stuff from the company? Betcha two bits that it's all more or less in the market already.

Would I disseminate the information? Personally, I probably wouldn't post it on the Internet or something like that, simply as a courtesy and to maintain a positive relationship with the company to facilitate future communications. But if I had a friend who followed the company, I wouldn't hesitate to pass it along.
