Yeah, some people may do that. These are the same people, who dump their prescription pills into the toilet, throw NiCad batteries, and their aged laptops in the trash... I could go on and on. I'm sure the conscientious people do recycle them safely.

Airflow/fan limit controls, Antiques, Appliances (Electric), Appliances (Gas-fired), Barometers, Button cell batteries, Clothes irons, Electronics, Gas flow regulators, Heating and cooling systems, Jewelry, Light switches (Silent), Paint (Latex), Pesticides, Plumbing, Security systems, Shoes, Sporting Equipment, Television Sets, Thermometers, Thermostats, Tilt Switches..
There's nothing more dangerous about CFL's than any of the above products. I don't hear the teabaggers harping about mercury in general. I don't hear them harping about mercury emissions from coal fired stations. Coal fire stations are the 800 lb gorilla in the room. They're a source of mercury emissions that would far exceed anything of the levels coming from CFL's. It's all a political ruse. The teabaggers are acting as if they really care about the health hazards of CFL's, when in reality they're being obstructionist and mocking the legitimate concerns. It's supreme despicable hypocrisy. |
