I agree that the Verizon iPhone launch was underwhelming at best.

Have to quibble with one point the author of that piece raised, however. He mentions that Piper Jaffray conducted a survey of a whole 40 people at Apple and Verizon stores, and found that only 8 percent of them (3 people?) were switching from ATT. But he claims that it invalidates predictions of 26% of AT&T users switching to Verizon.

Those predictions may prove to be false, but I don't think that survey is a valid basis for questioning them. The two numbers aren't directly related, and nobody said 26% of AT&T users were going to switch on the first day of sales.

Then he complains about Apple's share price being based on perception. Right. The stock price has nothing to do with the company's actual performance.

I completely disagree with his conclusion that anything that happened this week shows that Apple is an unsafe investment.
