The insane acts called 'honor killings' serve to keep that culture's females downtrodden. Is wonton killing by the radical members the reason so few are willing to take a courageous step forward to fight the emotionally-twisted butchers. What if colonial Americans had allowed their fear to hobble them, and kept them from fighting the better armed and military-trained British troops in 1770s?

That's the concern with current Mid-east turmoil. When their religious loons start to massacre innocence, there never seem to be enough steely-spined warriors willing to combat the threat until they prevail. Until that day arrives, those populations will continue to be suppressed by the worst among them.
