Could Sony’s streaming music service known as “Music Unlimited” one day make it so that they and Apple are bitter enemies when it comes to the music industry? Sony hopes that Music Unlimited will be able to be a direct competitor to iTunes at some point that they will actually be able to pull their music from the world’s most popular music delivery service.

Michael Ephraim, the CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment recently gave an interview where he made it very clear that at some point, he would very much like Sony to be to offer certain artists that it has under contract only through its service and not have it offered on iTunes.

“If Music Unlimited becomes popular it will provide a credible alternative to iTunes for music publishers. Publishers are being held to ransom by Apple and they are looking for other delivery systems, and we are waiting to see what the next three to five years will hold.” Ephraim said.
